METAGORA:
Measuring democracy, governance and human rights
The goal of this project is to test statistical methods
for measuring different aspects regarding democracy,
governance and human rights in different countries,
which include the five nations that make up the Andean
Community, the French-speaking nations of Africa, Sri
Lanka, South Africa, the Philippines and Palestine.
FUNDAR is responsible for the Mexican section of the
project, which is a study on mistreatment by law-enforcement
officials, whether they are police officers, court
officials or prison guards. In order to compile the
necessary information, an open-population survey will
be implemented in Mexico City. Results can be expected
during 2005. Back
